Active Kids vouchers available

Power with Purpose is an officially registered activity provider in the Active Kids initiative.

Active Kids is a NSW Government initiative to encourage kids to get into sports and fitness and help them to grow up to be healthy and active adults. Service NSW provides vouchers of up to $50 to assist with the registration, participation and membership costs of sports, fitness and active recreation.

Am I eligible?

To be eligible, your child needs to be a NSW resident, aged between 4.5 and 18 and enrolled in school – anywhere from kindergarten to Year 12 is fine, including home-school, Distance Ed and high school students of TAFE NSW.

Your child will also need to be listed on a current Medicare card.

You can apply for one voucher for each eligible student – learn more here.

How can I apply?

Applying for your first Active Kids Voucher is a two-step process.

To apply online, you will need to have the following information at hand to complete your application:

  • Contact details for both you and your child(ren), including mobile number and email address.
  • Full name, date of birth and Medicare number for your child.
  • There are additional questions about your child’s current activities and their height and weight – these are optional and are for program research purposes. You do not need to answer these if you prefer not to.

Step one: Create a MyService NSW account. This is a one-off activity. Once you a MyService NSW account, you can use it to claim your voucher each year.

Step two: is to complete your Active Kids Voucher application for each child.

  • Log into your MyService NSW account.
  • In the ‘Services’ box, click on the Active Kids icon.
  • Enter your Medicare details.
  • Follow the prompts to obtain your voucher.
  • Once you have your voucher, it will be visible any time you log into your MyService NSW account.

Don’t have a mobile phone or access to emails? No problem! Call Service NSW on 13 77 88 from a landline or visit a Service NSW service centre, and they can assist you in creating a MyService account.

How and when can I redeem my voucher?

You can simply email the voucher to [email protected] when it comes to registration time for your child.

The fine print

  • The Active Kids vouchers are offered twice every calendar year. Even if all your chosen Power with Purpose activities combined cost less than $50, the remaining balance cannot be used.
  • They can be used twice in the specified time during the calendar year.
  • Vouchers can only be used by the person named on the voucher.
  • They cannot be split between different clubs or organisations and can’t be shared across multiple registrations.
  • Vouchers can only be used for membership, participation and registration fees. Unfortunately, they cannot be swapped for our Power with Purpose uniforms and jackets or martial arts supplies. Sorry!
  • They cannot be redeemed for cash.

We have been coming to this school for over 3 years now. Sir Michael has gone out of his way in the past to help our kids with individual issues they were working through . The instructors are wonderful and the classes have a very inclusive atmosphere. They teach kids not just about taekwondo but also about a healthy mindset which is so important.

We’ve been sending our kids to Power with purpose for about a year now. Michael and team have a great way of teaching kids TKD techniques. More importantly they help grow our kids confidence. Very happy with the classes and happy to recommend.

My kids have been attending TKD classes with Michael and his sons for a number of years. The positive environment, discipline, physical exercise and fun they have at Power with Purpose is an important part of their growth and development. Highly recommended.
