“I was told that I wouldn’t walk again.”
Nathan has been a taekwondo student with Power with Purpose since 2021.
His proudest achievement in his taekwondo journey has been re-grading after suffering a significant injury.
“I was told that I wouldn’t walk again. Now I am back to full movement and training.”
Nathan appreciates the supportive culture we have here at Power with Purpose. “It’s a community, with a strong focus on learning and personal growth. It’s a sport and activity where all ages can train together.
Achieving a black belt at Lion Park years ago as a teenager, and then returning as an instructor has definitely given me a different perspective in sharing and giving back. Seeing the students grow is something I am very proud to be a part of.”
For people who are considering also starting taekwondo – young or old – Nathan would give them the following advice: “Come and give it a go. We have a community of students and instructors from all different walks of life and experience. You will definitely get more out of it than being able to defend for yourself.”
