Piper

PWP - Piper

It was the curiosity of Piper’s dad that introduced her to martial arts one night after school. Piper initially joined in with her brother starting her first classes at the age of seven… now she is a second dan black belt!

Years later, Piper now finds it hard to be patient while waiting for her year 10 class to finish so she can spar with her fellow students in our taekwondo classes.

“It’s a time to just focus on practising your techniques, forgetting the stressful things in life. I also love feeling active both teaching and practising taekwondo.”

Piper loves the energy the club has and the passion passed from the instructors onto the students.

“Passing on my passion and knowledge is something I really enjoy. It has taught me so much about discipline, respect, courtesy and general life lessons. I want to be able to teach my own class and see the next generation come through.”

The moment when Piper was awarded her black belt was one she will never forget. She now plans to train further to achieve her fifth dan and continue teaching future generations.

“One of the biggest lessons I have learnt from taekwondo is about resilience. Michael, Jason and Matt have taught me to overcome my challenges and just be present.”
